You thought the
Salomon Adventure Challenge was a great time the past few years?
Well, heads up - 2006 will be more social, more fun, more party,
plus the same great courses as always!
FAR will always be about Real Wilderness. Real Navigation. Real
Adventure. But we know
you also love to party, so this is the
year FAR cranks it up. Bring your cozy post-race clothes, your beer
budget, and make sure you book accommodations for Saturday night.
HOST SITE:
Esprit Rafting, in
the Ottawa River Valley near Fort Coulonge, QC will make a wild and
exciting host site for this Salomon AC. While hosting our 2005
Championship races here, we were reminded not only of how incredible
the region is, but what great hosts the Esprit gang are. The area
offers exceptional course design opportunities, including daunting
rockfaces and canyons, and churning whitewater of all levels.
GREAT PRIZING: The top teams in each category (male, female,
coed) win free or discounted entries to the Salomon AC
Canadian Championship in September, plus tons of great gear prizes from our
sponsors.
SALOMON WOMEN WILL... The ‘Salomon
Women Will…’ category for all-female teams continues to grow in
popularity. Enter to win a free race with Liza Pye of Simon River Sports for this race - women only!
BIGGER, BETTER POST-RACE DINNER AND AWARDS: A hot bountiful
dinner served between 5 and 7 allows for a casual social time before
the night begins. Leading up to the party, we'll have an awards
ceremony to recognize the top teams, share race stories, recognize
volunteers, and award more prizes for all sorts of crazy reasons. The course designer and race director will also hold a 'debrief' with interested racers to discuss the strategy and challenges of the course.
NEW POST-RACE PARTY: Stay for the "Best Post-Race Party" (Get
Out There Magazine) featuring a live band all the way from Mexico,
and a cozy bar and patio, with comical race stories, cheesy games,
and unique stunts worth cool prizes.
STAY ON SITE: We've got great accommodations and meal
packages, so make a weekend of it. Come Friday night for the
pre-race pasta and social, stay Saturday night to celebrate your
achievement, and maybe do some rafting on Sunday. A weekend
package will be available for two nights accommodations, dinner
Friday night, and breakfasts Saturday and Sunday!
